My Mr. Fix-It Man

My Mr. Fix-It Man

Maestro has told me stories before about his lateral thinking and ability to solve problems. The bigger the better! I’ve witnessed this problem-solving ability at work, but today was a completely different example. This is a story of how he opened a gate from the outside with only a riding crop and hair elastic.

We were wandering around the condo complex today looking for suitable locations for kinky photos. We went down to the parking garage, and up a staircase that led outside. Once outside, we took a path back to the kids playground and BBQ area. But there was a gate before the stairs that could only be opened from the other side. It was the kind of gate that you had to push the bar to open. The slats in the gate were too narrow to fit our hands through, but he could easily slip the riding crop through the opening, above the push bar. But the riding crop wouldn’t bend enough so he could grab the handle of it below the push bar. This didn’t deter Maestro!

He reached into his pocket to get one of my hair elastics and tied it to the riding crop handle. Et voila! He pushed the riding crop back through the gate above the bar, then grabbed the handle (now long enough with the hair elastic) through the gate below the bar. And then pulled the handle with enough force on the push bar to open the gate. It was a brilliant solution. Who needs MacGyver when I have Maestro!
