What are your sex songs?

What makes the best fuck music for you? Is it the beats? Lyrics? The singer’s voice? A favourite artist? Let’s face it – we all have them. Our favourite fuck songs. Maybe it’s based on nostalgia – do you remember if music was playing when you lost your virginity? If so, I bet you remember the song. Or maybe the song when you slow danced and swooned over your first love. Music creates a powerful emotional trigger for our sexual memories.

For me, my sex music has changed over time. Unlike some of my friends who swear by Led Zeppelin 2 (or 4) for any time with any person, I have a collection of stand-by faves. For rhythm and beats, Massive Attack is amazing. I will never forget the first time Maestro and I fucked to Angel. It’s got the perfect beat and change in tempo. In fact, we can put on Blue Lines and Protection and fuck for hours. In my 30s, I swore by the Velvet Underground and Sweet Jane in particular. There’s something really sexy about Lou Reed’s voice. Not all of his music is great for sex though. I’m listening to Heroin right now and it’s definitely not putting me in the mood. I wouldn’t recommend putting on a Lou Reed or Velvet Underground album and letting it play.

I also went through a huge trance phase. HUGE. John Digweed, Sasha, Armin van Buuren – I have hours and hours of their music for dancing and fucking. Slow and sensual for the tease, hard rockin’ beats for the fuck (I still love the Renaissance mixes for crazy, lusty sex) and back to something down tempo for the post-sex smoke and cuddle.
